Top 3 Southwest Florida Beach Photography Locations

Choosing the right beach can make a huge difference for your photo session. Every location has its own unique look and feel, from wide open beaches and beautiful sunsets to dunes, sea oats and iconic Florida scenery.

Over the years, I’ve photographed families, couples, seniors and maternity sessions all across Southwest Florida. While there are many beautiful beaches to choose from, these are my three favorite locations for beach photography. Each one offers something a little different and can help create a unique backdrop for your memories.

Bowditch Point Park - Fort Myers Beach, Florida

Bowditch Point is my favorite location for beach photography in Southwest Florida. The beach offers a beautiful mix of wide open shoreline, sea oats, sandy paths and stunning Gulf sunsets. Unlike many other beaches, there are several different backdrops within a short walking distance, which allows for a lot of variety during a session.

Bowditch Point is especially great for families with children because there is plenty of space to move around and explore. The location also works beautifully for maternity, couples and senior sessions. If you're looking for classic Florida beach photos with a variety of scenery and a gorgeous sunset, Bowditch Point is hard to beat.

Sanibel Lighthouse Beach – Sanibel Island, Florida

Sanibel Lighthouse Beach offers a beautiful mix of sandy beaches, palm trees, sea oats and tropical scenery that feels uniquely Sanibel. The location has a relaxed atmosphere and provides a natural backdrop that works well for family, maternity and couples sessions.

One of my favorite things about this beach is the variety of Florida landscapes within a short distance. From the iconic lighthouse area and swaying palm trees to open beach views and coastal vegetation, there are plenty of opportunities for beautiful and diverse images.

If you love a more tropical Florida feel, Sanibel Lighthouse Beach is a wonderful choice for your photo session.

South Seas Resort – Captiva Island, Florida

Located on beautiful Captiva Island, South Seas Resort offers a unique setting for beach photography with its white sandy beaches, tropical vegetation and breathtaking Gulf views. The atmosphere feels relaxed, private and distinctly Captiva, making it a wonderful location for family, maternity, couples and senior sessions.

One of the things I love most about South Seas Resort is the peaceful setting and the variety of natural backdrops available throughout the property. From palm-lined paths and coastal landscapes to beautiful beach views, there are many opportunities for timeless and natural photographs.

Please note that South Seas Resort is only accessible to resort guests and property owners. For that reason, this location is only available for photo sessions if you are staying at the resort or have access to the property during your vacation.
